The Honeywell 8000 thermostat includes a programmable a screen-lock feature that prevents inadvertent changes of the mean, or desired average, temperature of the household. Typically, you reset the lock after adjusting the temperature for changes in weather or following a power outage. Follow a simple step-by-step procedure to reset the screen-lock on your Honeywell 8000 thermostat.
Press the 'System' key to access 'Advanced Settings.' Five blank touch-keys will appear on the screen between the 'Done' key and the 'Cancel' key.
Push and hold the center blank key for five seconds. A 'User Setup Number' will appear in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. Press 'Up' or 'Down' until the user number 0670 displays on the screen.
Change your 'Options' by pressing 'Up' or 'Down' as you observe the 'Current Setting' number on the screen. Press the screen button below the number '1' on the screen to lock all keys except temperature.
Select the desired mean temperature using 'Up' or 'Down.' Press the screen button below the number '2' to lock the screen. Press the 'System' key to exit the screen-lock feature and return to the normal mode.
